Promises Kept!

Springtime is a reminder that God has kept his promise.

Long ago, after the great flood, God made a promise to Noah, “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease” (Genesis 8:22). As seeds are planted and flowers bloom, we witness God keeping his promise.

As Easter approaches, we are reminded of an even greater promise kept by God – a promise that goes beyond Easter baskets and chocolate bunnies. Easter reminds us of the promise Jesus made, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected…and be killed, and after three days rise again” (Mark 8:31). As the women arrived at the tomb on Easter morning, they heard how Jesus kept his promise. The angel said, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay” (Matthew 28:5,6).

Easter Matters Because He Lives!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ means that God keeps his promises.

It is God’s declaration of acceptance and victory. God accepted Jesus’ perfect life and sacrificial death on our behalf as the full payment of all our sins. Three days later, after being placed in a sealed tomb, Jesus rose again. Easter points to the empty tomb and God’s declaration of victory over death and sin.

God fully delivered on his promises.
